Hand-macerated in small batches, our Alcoholado de Malagueta y Árnica pairs fresh malagueta leaf, also known as bay rum leaf (Pimenta racemosa), with Mexican árnica, rosemary, and eucalyptus in an alcohol base, then finishes with cooling camphor and menthol.
A cornerstone of Remedios de Mami, this formula is inspired by the bottles and jars that lived on family shelves long before many of us ever called what our families were doing “herbalism.” Alcoholado has long been part of Puerto Rican home-care traditions, especially in sobos, rub-downs, and everyday tending to a tired body after long days.
Isopropyl alcohol, distilled water, fresh malagueta leaf (Pimenta racemosa), Mexican árnica flower, eucalyptus leaf, rosemary leaf, menthol, camphor, eucalyptus essential oil, camphor essential oil, peppermint essential oil, and bay rum (malagueta) essential oil.
Topical Rub: Pour a small amount into your hands and massage onto shoulders, arms, legs, back, or other intact areas of the body.
Cooling Cloth: Apply a small amount to a cool, damp washcloth and place on the back of the neck or other intact areas of the body for a refreshing cooling ritual.
Every bottle is prepared by hand using whole leaves and botanicals. Color, aroma, herbal density, and sediment may vary naturally from batch to batch. Small pieces of plant material at the bottom of the bottle are normal and part of the preparation.
